Les lois laïques concernant l'école. C'est des lois qui concernaient exclusivement l'Etat, à savoir les programmes, les locaux et le personnel, en aucun cas les élèves et encore moins les parents d'élèves. De même, la loi de 1905, qui est une loi de liberté et d'égalité, qui vise la séparation des Églises et de l'Etat, ne vise en aucun cas à contrôler l'Eglise ou les Églises. C'est-à-dire qu'il y a une séparation de plus en plus à la fois de la question de la croyance, des pratiques religieuses, des mœurs notamment sexuelles, par rapport aux impératifs, aux diktats des religions. Ce qu'il faut voir, c'est que les lois laïques n'ont pas été mises en œuvre en Alsace et en Moselle, alors qu'aussi bien au lendemain de la Première Guerre mondiale, en 1924 et en 1944, il a été précisé de manière explicite que c'est à titre provisoire seulement que c'est les textes antérieurs restés en place. Mais ils étaient parfaitement prévus que les lois laïques soient mises en œuvre tôt ou tard.
